The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM)
America's national institution for the documentation, study, and interpretation of Holocaust history, and serves as the country's memorial to the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust. The Museum have given their full support to the project, in return for which we will be providing the museum with material to be used in an exhibit about the Struma.

The Rahmi M. Koç Museum and Cultural Foundation

The Foundation are actively involved in cultural and scientific research work, specifically in the area of marine archeology.
They will be supporting the expedition and commemoration day in various ways including provision of a diving research boat "Saros" and hosting the remembrance day reception on the 27th August. The Koc Foundation Vehbi Koc, former chairman of the Koc company, was responsible for helping a number of Struma passengers reach Palestine during the time that the ship was in Istanbul harbour.

YAP
This is the Canadian based TV company who will be producing a documentary about the Struma and the Romanian Holocaust. Our project will act as a "spine" to the program. The documentary will be of the highest quality in line with the exceptional, award winning output of AP, and will be broadcast across the US, UK and much of Europe.

The diving team
The team consists of some of the world's most accomplished wreck exploration divers, many of whom have gained experience locating and diving ships such as The Lusitania and The Britannic (the Titanic's sister ship). Many of the divers are part of the Starfish Enterprise diving team. Although Greg Buxton is the only relative who will be diving the wreck, a number of the team are Jewish. All of the divers shown a great deal of commitment to this project and no one will be paid for their time and effort.
There were a total of 14 divers in the team.

Deep Down Diving - Rebreather and Trimix Training
This TDI premier facility, PADI and SDI dive school have generously provided free training for some of the diving team. It is run by Steve Copeland and Jeanette Plant, two of the country's most experienced Buddy Inspiration Instructor/Instructor Trainers.

Closed Circuit rebreathers offer many advantages for expedition diving - six of the team will be using Inspirations. Many of the team members will using other AP Valves equipment, such as their delayed SMB's.
